After six months, my friend and I finally sat down for coffee together again. And do you know what we talked about? Brown Bear and Red Goose, the main characters in William Lane Craig’s children’s books, “What is God Like?”
The books aren’t just helpful for children, they also helped us reflect on God’s attributes.
My friend lent me the series and we’ve really been enjoying them. A few things I love about these books:
- In each story the children come to their dad with a question that kids as about God, like, “How strong is God?” or “How can Jesus be God and pray to God?”
- Papa Bear responds by saying, “Let’s see what the Bible says,” and then turns to a simple passage explaining the nature and character of God.
- The rest of the pages flushe out the implication of that characteristic and why it’s important for God to be like that.
- Each book has a short verse to memorize at the end that describes the character of God discussed in the book.
I think we will be adding these books to our collection in the near future! The series includes:
God Is Spirit
- God Is Everywhere
- God Is Forever
- God Is Self-Sufficient
- God Is All-Knowing
- God Is All-Powerful
- God Is All-Good
- God Is Three Persons
